Nathan Mienke finished 74th in a field of 156 runners to pace the Pitt-Johnstown men's cross country team at Saturday's 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional 10k Championship race at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa. As a team, the Mountain Cats finished 19th in a field of 21 teams at the season-ending event.
Davis & Elkins' (WV) Jan Thewes won the individual region medalist crown with a time of 29:51.0 to help the Senators claim the team title with 40 points, five points better than second-place Shippensburg.
Mienke finished 74th at 32:49.7 to lead the Mountain Cat runners. Teammate
Aiden Lechleitner placed 86th at 33:10.1, while
Brandt Patterson was 128th (34:29.6),
Nicholas Kelly was 138th (35:21.1), and
Aidan Bertrand was 148th (37:33.1) to round out Pitt-Johnstown's top-five runners.
After Davis & Elkins and Shippensburg, Charleston (WV) (81 points), Concord (WV) (188 points), and Slippery Rock (191 points) closed out the top tive teams.
The Top-3 teams advance to the NCAA Division II Championships, while the Top-2 individuals not members of an automatic qualifying team and all individual runners who place in the top-5 not part of a qualifying team will earn spots at the National Championships.
