Head Coach Todd Williams' and the Mountain Cat baseball team will host a nine-inning, non-conference game against Lock Haven on Tuesday, starting at 2 p.m. at Johnstown's Point Stadium.
Head Coach Todd Williams' Pitt-Johnstown quad comes in at 9-13 after dropping three-of-four to Slippery Rock to begin PSAC West-play over the weekend. In Friday's opener at Slippery Rock,
Rodney Shultz tossed a complete-game and fanned 10 to lead the Mountain Cats to a 2-1 victory. The Rock answered with a 5-2 win in game two, before sweeping Pitt-Johnstown, 6-0 and 5-4 at Point Stadium on Saturday.
Seventh-year
Head Coach Heath Smoke Stover and the Lock Haven Bald Eagles were 6-15 prior to Monday's PSAC East doubleheader against West Chester. The Bald Eagles started the series against the Golden Rams on Friday with 9-4 and 10-3 setbacks.
Pitt-Johnstown has won six of the nine meetings between the team since the 2005 season. The Mountain Cats have also won four of the last six match-ups, including a 13-8 win at Point Stadium on March 19, 2019.
Zach Zinn went 4-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI, while
Jack Shirk and
Tyler Smith also homered for Pitt-Johnstown.
Isaac Porter hit a home run and drove in two and,
Demetrius Haskins had two hits and two RBI to pace the Bald Eagles.
Pitt-Johnstown will start a four-game PSAC West series against Gannon, with a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before closing out the series in Erie on Saturday.
