
Noah Ser qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the high jump with a 1.88-meters performance to capture a runner-up finish in the event when the Pitt-Johnstown men's track and field team took part in the Messiah Invitational on Saturday.
Twenty-one events counted toward a team score as the Mountain Cats racked up 91.5 points to take home a fourth-place mark in an invitational that featured 17 teams across Division II and III.
Ser also had a ninth place finish in the long jump event after leaping 5.73 meters. That performance was one of 21 top-10 finishes for the Mountain Cats.
Michael Ifidon continued a strong season, notching a runner-up mark in the 100-meter run with a time of 10.73 seconds and a sixth place finish in the 200-meter run that amounted to 22.72 seconds. Luke Cimakasky enjoyed a third place finish in the 1500-meter run after checking in at 4:13.61 seconds. Aiden Lechleitner was right behind him in the 1500-meter, finishing fourth at 4:14.61 minutes.
Marcello Legister registered a time of 16.39 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to claim fourth. Similarly, Charlie Levander secured a fifth place rank in the 400-meter hurdles, checking in with a time of 1:01.09.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Blum, Lee, Levander and Lauper staked out a fifth place finish. The 4x800-meter team that was composed of Lechleitner, Kelch, Brassart and Cimakasky was third in their event.
John Yahner enjoyed the second highest finish in the field events, notching third place in the pole vault with a 3.72-meters performance. Finnian Sieg was seventh in the pole vault at 3.27 meters.
Cyrus Lyghts was fourth in the long jump at 6.14 meters, while Ryan Porch (5.95 meters) and Isaiah Dyer (5.79 meters) were seventh and eighth place respectively.
Chad Weist rounded out the notable place finishes in the field events with a 44.72-meter number in the javelin toss.
The Mountain Cats will compete in the Slippery Rock John Papa Invitational on Thursday.
