Men’s and Women’s Soccer to Host PSAC West Matches on Wednesday

The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's soccer teams will host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  Head Coach Aideen O'Donaghue's women's squad will take on Indiana (PA) at 12:30, before Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat men play Lock Haven at 3 p.m.
 
The Pitt-Johnston women, who will play their home finale on Wednesday, come in at 2-7-4 overall and 2-7-2 in the PSAC West following a pair of setbacks last week.  The Mountain Cats fell 4-0 at seventh-ranked Gannon last Wednesday, before Slippery Rock earned a 3-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday.  Emma Morin made eight saves against the Golden Knights, before adding five more against The Rock.
 
IUP, 11-2-2 overall and 8-2-1 in conference-play under first-year Head Coach Elizabeth Lathrop, fell 1-0 at Slippery Rock last Wednesday, then bounced back with a 1-0 home win over Gannon on Saturday.  Kat Morgan's goal with just under 22 minutes remaining lifted the Crimson Hawks to the win over Gannon.
 
The Mountain Cats and Crimson Hawks met in Indiana on Sept. 24, and IUP picked up a 6-0 win behind two goals each from Elle Smith and Emily Lattea.
 
The Pitt-Johnstown women will close out the 2025 regular season with PSAC road matches at Seton Hill on Saturday and at California (PA) next Wednesday.
 
 
The Mountain Cat men are 7-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the PSAC West after splitting a pair of league matches last week.  Jaeger James and Pau Cano each scored goals, and Jacob Tichnell made eight saves to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 2-1 victory at California (PA) last Wednesday.  On Saturday, 24th-ranked Gannon dealt the Mountain Cats a 7-0 road loss.
 
Eighth-year Head Coach Patrick Long's Lock Haven Bald Eagles are 7-4-4 overall and 3-1-3 in the PSAC West.   Lock Haven secured a 0-0 draw with Slippery Rock last Wednesday, before Noah Brady scored two goals in a 3-1 win at Cal U on Saturday.
 
Pitt-Johnstown traveled to Lock Haven on Oct. 8 and suffered a 7-0 setback.  Kade Black tallied the first four goals of the match, and Kevin Magallanes and Brady each added a goal and an assist for the Bald Eagles.
 
The Mountain Cats will close out the 2025 home schedule with a PSAC West match against Seton Hill on Saturday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, then finish the season at Slippery Rock on Nov. 6.
