Griffin Hansberry shot two-under in Tuesday's final round of the Tiffin University Kyle Ryman Memorial at the par-72 Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio to climb six spots and finish in a tie for second at -4 and guide the Pitt-Johnstown golfers to a third-place finish.
Indiana (PA) led the field at -18 after Monday's first two rounds, but was 13 over par on Tuesday, allowing Tiffin to charge back and claim the team title at -7, two shots better than the Crimson Hawks' 5-under. The Mountain Cats, who entered the day at even par shot one over in the final round and finished third, while Ohio Northern (+19) and Malone (OH) (+22) rounded out the top-five in the 13-team field.
Tiffin's Winston Brown earned medalist honors at -8, four strokes ahead of Hansberry and Tiffin teammate Daniel Aitken.
Hansberry shot 2-under, even, and 2-under to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Eli Ropietski tied for fifth with IUP's Alex Swinnerton at 2-under (1-, -1, E), while
Lucas Smith was 19
th at +3 (+1, +1, +1),
Grayden Laird finished 20
th at +4 (+2, E, +2), and
David Razinskas tied for 37
th at +11 (+3, +6, +2).
In addition,
Mauricio Hernandez, competing as an individual, was 32
nd at 1- over par (+6, +3, +1).
The Mountain Cats will finish the fall season at the 2025 PSAC Championships, October 17-19 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa.
