Head Coach Justin Haupt's Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team, 17-11 and seeded fourth in the eight-team field, will take on fifth-seeded Shepherd (WV) in Thursday's Quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament hosted by Gannon University for the fourth consecutive year. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Highmark Events Center in Erie.
2025 will mark Pitt-Johnstown's seventh overall NCAA Division II Regional Tournament berth and the program's third straight appearance.
The winner of the Pitt-Johnstown-Shepherd match will take on the winner of the No. 1 Gannon-No. 8 Fayetteville State match in the Atlantic Region Semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Regional Quarterfinal matches are scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m., 1:30, 4:30, and 7:00 p.m. The semifinals are on Friday at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., and the Atlantic Regional Championship Match is on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Eight eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the NCAA finals, Dec. 11-13, at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Fall, S.D. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches.
Pitt-Johnstown is led by First-Team All-PSAC West outside hitter
Ellie Zuro Cirino (421 kills, 4.09 kills/set, 4.57 points/set) and second-team all-conference choices
Caroline Knight (OH) (331 kills, 3.21 kills/set, 3.86 points/set) and
Jessica Krug (DS) (494 digs, 5.37 digs/set).
Zuro Cirino led the PSAC in kills per set and total kills and was second in the conference in points per set. Nationally, she ranks in the top 25 in all three categories. Krug paced the PSAC and is 15
th nationally in digs per set, while setter
Abby Berry ranked third in the PSAC and is 43
rd nationally in assists per set at 9.66
Shepherd, under 11
th-year Head Coach AlexHoekstra, enters the NCAA Regional Tournament at 19-10.
The Rams are led by Ada McCoy (337 kills, 2.98 kills/set, 3.49 points/set), Sophia Ryan (264 kills, 2.36.kills/set, 3.21 points/set), and Amya Davis (278 kills, 2.48 kills/set, 3.11 points per set).
Since 2006, the Mountain Cats hold an 11-5 advantage in the series. Pitt-Johnstown and Shepherd met earlier this season on Sept. 19 at the Indiana (PA) Tournament and the Rams came away with a sweep. Zuro Cirino had nine kills and Knight added seven kills for Pitt-Johnstown. McCoy and Ryan each had 10 kills for Shepherd.
