The Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats, 2-0 on the year and ranked eighth in the NWCA rankings and sixth in the Open Mat Dual Meet Rankings under second-year
Head Coach Tyler Reinhart, will kick-off their PSAC schedule against Shippensburg on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
The Mountain Cats opened the dual meet schedule with an 18-17 win at No. 19 West Liberty (WV), before dealing No. 16/9 Ashland (OH) a 32-10 loss in the Sports Center on Nov. 21. Pitt-Johnstown picked up three wins by technical fall and added falls from
Trent Hoover (165 lbs.) and
Isaiah Vance (285 lbs.) in the win over the Eagles.
Pitt-Johnstown is led by a pair of top-ranked All-Americans in No. 1/1
Trevon Gray at 125 lbs. and No. 1/1
Isaiah Vance at 285 lbs. The Mountain Cats also boast three other returning national qualifiers in No. 14/15
Chad Ozias (141 lbs.), No. 16
Cooper Warshel (157 lbs.), and No. 13
Noah Gnibus (184 lbs.).
Shippensburg, receiving votes in the NWCA National Poll, is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC under 17

Since the 2004-05 season, Pitt-Johnstown has won all 21 of the meetings between the two teams, including last year's 42-6 win in Shippensburg on Feb. 4. The Mountain Cats used four technical fall wins and a pin from
Braxton Rice at 141 lbs.
The Mountain Cats will travel to Indianapolis for the 2025 Midwest Classic in Indianapolis on Dec. 13-14, before breaking for the holiday season. Pitt-Johnstown will kick off the spring semester with a home match against Findlay (OH) on Jan. 4 in the Sports Center.
