The Top-10 ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers used five technical fall wins and falls from Cooper Warshel at 157 lbs. and Isaiah Vance at 285 lbs., to lock up a lopsided, 44-3, victory over Shippensburg in the 2025-26 PSAC-opener, Friday night in the Sports Center.  The Mountain Cats are now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC.
 
Top-ranked Trevon Gray's 20-3 technical fall at 4:10 over Colin Marano to start the match at 125 lbs., followed by a 12-6 win from freshman Brady Baker over Kyle von Schmidt at 133 lbs. gave the Mountain Cats a quick, 8-0 lead.
 
Chad Ozias, ranked 14/15 at 149 lbs. won by technical fall, 23-5 at 6:51 and No. 8/6 Matt Sarbo 20-6 major decision at 149 increased it to 17-0, before No. 16 Warshel's pinned Anthony Lavish at 4:14 to Pitt-Johnstown a commanding, 23-0, advantage midway through the match.
 
In a match-up of ranked wrestlers at 165 lbs., Pitt-Johnstown's 19^th-ranked Trent Hoover used a point for riding time to force overtime, but Shippensburg's No. 15/10 Nick Delp got a take down early in the extra period to secure a 9-6 win and get the Red Raiders on the scoreboard.
 
However, the Mountain Cats closed it out strong with four consecutive victories. Ty Morrison (174 lbs.), No. 13 Noah Gnibus (184 lbs.), and #17 Brad Morrison (197 lbs.) won by technical fall, before No. 1-ranked Vance pinned Matt Jones at 2:17 to wrap up the 44-3 victory.
 
With the loss, Shippensburg dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to the 2025 Midwest Classic in Indianapolis next weekend, before breaking for the holiday season.  The Mountain Cats will be back in action on Jan. 4 when they host Findlay (OH) at noon in the Sports Center.
