Women’s Basketball to Close Out Home Schedule Against No. 22/25 Gannon on Saturday

The Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball team will close out the 2024-25 home schedule with a PSAC Western Division doubleheader with the men's team against No. 22/25 Gannon, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. The women will tip off at 1 p.m. with the men's Senior Day game to follow at 3 p.m.
 
        Head Coach D'wan Shackleford-Vickroy and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats will close out the 2024-25 home schedule on Saturday.  The Mountain Cats are 3-22 overall and 1-17 in the PSAC following Wednesday's, 89-43, loss at California (PA).  Riley Childress scored 10 points, while Camille Dominick had nine points and five rebounds, and Gianna Gallucci added nine points off the bench for Pitt-Johnstown. Last Saturday, Childress and Belle Bosch each scored 15 points to give Coach Shackleford-Vickroy her first PSAC win with a, 69-67, double overtime victory over Slippery Rock in the Sports Center.

        Gannon, ranked 22nd in the WBCA Coaches Poll and 25th in the D2CSC Poll under 17th-year Head Coach Cleve Wright, comes in at 22-5 overall and 14-4 in the PSAC following a, 69-58, victory at Clarion last Saturday.  Kate Ratliff collected game-highs of 26 points and eight rebounds, and Jordan Popyk scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds against the Golden Eagles.  The Golden Knights also picked up an 81-40 victory at Slippery Rock on Feb. 12.

        Pitt-Johnstown and the then No. 12/15 ranked Golden Knights met in Erie on Jan. 22 and Gannon came away with a 66-41 victory.  Bosch had 12 points and six rebounds, while Childress collected 10 points, five rebounds, and a game-high four assists, and M'laya Ainsworth matched her career-high with nine rebounds.  Maddy Wheatley's game-highs of 16 points and 12 rebounds paced Gannon.  The Golden Knights also got 13 points and five rebounds from Bri Claxon and 11 points from Trinitee Harris.

        Pitt-Johnstown will finish the 2024-25 season with a PSAC game at No 11/15 Seton Hill on Wednesday
