Forup's short jumper gave the Mountain Cats a 25-23 advantage with less than nine minutes in the half, but it was the last outright lead of the afternoon. Rose tied the game at 27-all with 6:30 remaining, but Edinboro took control for good on a layup just 18 seconds later.
A late run over the final six minutes from the Scots put the Mountain Cats in a 47-37 deficit heading into the break.
Smith's layup less than a minute into the second half cut that deficit to eight, but Pitt-Johnstown got no closer over the remaining 19 minutes.
The Mountain Cats finished a more than respectable 56.9% (33-of-58) from the floor, including a 17-for-28 (60.7%) over the opening 20 minutes.

Steve Kelly knocked in six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 23 points for the Scots, who improved to 13-10 (9-7 PSAC).
