Senior Cristian Thornton grabbed 1st place honors in the 400-meter dash to pace the Pitt-Johnstown men's track and field team at Slippery Rock's Last Chance meet on Friday.
Thornton ran the event in 49.64 seconds to edge out Youngstown State's William Delbaugh.Thornton also claimed 5th place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.29 seconds.
Ethan Barrick came in fourth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:13.07.
Nicholas Legnine ran the 100-meter dash in 11 seconds to take 6th place, and Marcello Legister finished right behind in 7th with a time of 11.11 seconds. Nathan Mienke earned a runner-up finish in the 5000-meter run, clocking in at 16:10.42.
Thornton, Legister, Noah Lee and Damian Blum took first in the 4x400-meter relay, completing the event in 3:29.08.
Hunter Johnson secured a 3rd place mark in the long jump, leaping 6.79 meters.Â
Pitt-Johnstown will compete at the 2025 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning on Thursday, May 8 and continuing through Saturday, May 10.
