
Griffin Hansberry (UPJ "A" Team) and
Lucas Smith (UPJ "B" Team) ended in a tie for fourth-place at even par in a field of 96 golfers, and the Mountain Cat golfers jumped one spot and finished second to Gannon following Tuesday's final round of the 2025 Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Collegiate at Sunnehanna Country Club.
The Mountain Cats shaved five strokes off their deficit entering the day and closed out the tournament at +19, fives shot behind the Golden Knights' 14 over par. Indiana (PA), West Chester, and Wheeling (WV) finished in a tie for third at 22-over par in the field of 16 teams.
Glenville State's Hector Arriaga won medalist honors at -5, three-shots better than Gannon's Giovanni Delorenzi and Wheeling's Sean Dobson, and five shots ahead of Hansberry and Smith.
After shooting one-under at the conclusion Monday's first two rounds, Hansberry was +1 on Tuesday to pace the Mountain Cats' "A" Team.
Grayden Laird tied for 12
th at +3 (+2, +1, Even), while
Eli Ropietski tied for 35
th at +7 (-1, +2, +6), and
Mauricio Hernandez (+2, +3, +6) and
Giovanni Vezza (+2, +1, +8) tied for 57
th at +11.
Smith, who entered the day at 3-under, shot a 3-over on Tuesday to tie for fourth at even-par to lead the way for the Pitt-Johnstown "B" Team.
David Razinskas tied for 25
th at 6-over par (+1, +2, +3), and
Tyler Mocello tied for 82
nd at +20 (+7, +9, +4), while
Parker Hilchey was 91
st at +23 (+5, +6, +12), and
Mark Yan finished 93
rd at +26 (+11, +5, +10) to round out the "B" Team.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Dom Cerilli, playing as an individual, was 96
th at +36 (+14, +7, +15).
The Mountain Cats travel to the Tiffin (OH) Kyle Ryman Memorial on Monday and Tuesday, before closing out the fall season at the 2025 PSAC Championships, October 17-19 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa.
