


The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's swimming teams got back in the pool for the first time in the new semester on Saturday and got an eight-place finish from
Mark DiPalma in the 200-Meter IM and a pair of top-15 finishes from
Allison Arendas and
Nicole Scott at the 2026 Indiana (PA) John a Pidgeon Memorial Invitational at Big Spring High School in Newville.
DiPalma led the way for the men's squad with his eighth-place finish in the 200-Meter IM at 2:04.83. DePalma also placed 11
th in the 100-Meter Backstroke at 57:10 and swam the 50-Meter Freestyle in a time of 27:17.
Teammate
Nick Truschel was 14
th in the 200-Meter IM at 2:30.47, and posted times of 1:09.54 in the 100-Meter Breaststroke and 23.38 50-Meter Freestyle.
On the women's side, Arendas' time of 1:04.70 in the 100-Meter Backstroke earned her a 14
th-place finish. Arendas also had a time of 26:49 in the 50-Meter Freestyle.
Scott finished 14
th in the 200-Meter IM at 2:23.05 and swam 100-Meter Backstroke at 1:06.99.
In addition,
Maddie Barrick made her collegiate with times of 1:17.75 in the 100-Meter Breaststroke and 27.84 in the 50-Meter Freestyle.
