JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Pitt-Johnstown could not recover after falling behind in the latter stages of the first half in an 86-70 loss to Seton Hill in a PSAC West matchup on Wednesday night in the Sports Center.
The Mountain Cats dropped to 6-13 (3-9 PSAC).
Liv West paced Pitt-Johnstown with a team-high 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Lexi Margolis recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Angel Ezirim contributed eight points and five rebounds, and Riley Childress added seven points in a team-high 36 minutes.
West pulled the Mountain Cats into a 17-all tie with a layup at the 1:18 mark of the opening quarter.
Seton Hill rattled off 10 straight points to open the second before M'laya Ainsworth scored inside with six minutes left to make it 27-19. A quick 6-0 rally capped by a layup from Anye Washington cut the deficit to 29-25. But it was all the closer the Mountain Cats would get to tying it as they went into the break down 35-27.
Aubree Price notched a conventional three-point play to open the third quarter scoring before Seton Hill methodically pulled away over the final six minutes of the frame.
Helene Cowan netted a game-high 25 points, while Hallie Cowan scored 21 points for the Griffins, who moved to 14-4 (10-2 PSAC).
Pitt-Johnstown will visit California (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. tip-off on Saturday.
