

Two of nation's best Division II wrestling teams met in Erie on Saturday to decide the 2025-26 PSAC Dual Meet Championship and it came down to the final bout. Sixth-ranked Gannon held a slim, 15-12, lead and got a decision win at 285 lbs., to upset fourth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown, 18-12, and earn the conference title.
The Mountain Cats, who won the previous nine conference Championships, ended the dual meet season at 13-1 and 5-1 in the PSAC.
Nine of the ten bouts featured ranked wrestlers, including six weight classes with both wrestlers nationally-ranked.

Trevon Gray used a take down with :32 left in the third period to break a 5-all tie and earn an 8-6 decision over 15
th-ranked Logan Sallot at 125 lbs. to give the Mountain Cats the early 3-0 lead.
Gannon tied it at 133 lbs. with second-ranked Jerry Echevarria's 5-3 win over
Brady Baker, then took a 6-3 lead when No. 4 Jake Niffenegger held off eight-ranked
Chad Ozias, 10-7, at 141 lbs.


At 149 lbs., Pitt-Johnstown got a 13-7 win from third-ranked
Matt Sarbo, also the second-ranked most dominant wrestler in the NCAA Division II rankings, over No. 11 Kenny Kiser to knot it at six, but Holden Hugh defeated
Cooper Warshel, 4-1, at 157 lbs. to give the lead back to the Golden Knights midway through the match.
Gannon's sixth-ranked Grant Mackay got a first period take down and went on to a 4-0 win over No. 11
Trent Hoover in the bout at 165 lbs. to increase it to 12-6.
At 174 lbs., No. 6
Ty Morrison rode out Dillon Walker the entire third period to get a point for riding time and force overtime, then took down Walker 1:04 into the extra period to earn and 6-3 win and narrow Pitt-Johnstown's gap to 12-9.
With three bouts remaining, No. 7 Patrick Jackson slipped by
Noah Gnibus, 2-0, at 184 lbs. to get Gannon 's lead back out to six.
No. 11
Brad Morrison's 6-3 win over No. 8 Joey Lyons at 197 lbs. kept the Mountain Cats alive and set up the finale between two of the nation's top-ranked wrestlers at 285 lbs. in Pitt-Johnstown's No. 4
Isaiah Vance and Gannon's No. Dorian Crosby.
Crosby was able to get a first period take down, then rode out Vance in the second period to go in front 4-0. Vance got a third period reversal to narrow the gap, but Crosby held on for a 6-2 win to give the Golden Knights the PSAC title.
Gannon ended its dual meet season at 12-1 and 6-0 in the PSAC.
The Mountain Cats will finish the 2025-26 regular season with a PSAC match at Gannon on Feb. 14 and the Millersville Futures Tournament on Feb. 21, before going to the NCAA Division II Super Region I Tournament at East Stroudsburg on Feb. 28.
