Pitt-Johnstown's Brad Morrison claimed an NCAA Super Region I Championship at East Stroudsburg on Saturday to lead six Mountain Cats who qualified for the 2026 NCAA National Tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D., March 13-14.

Head Coach Tyler Reinhart's team finished third in the team standings behind champion Gannon, which had nine finalists and seven champions, and Kutztown.

Morrison beat Gannon's Joey Lyons 4-0 for the 197-pound title while his younger brother, Ty Morrison, placed second at 174 pounds. Matt Sarbo finished second at 149 pounds.

Isaiah Vance earned his fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament with a third-place finish at 285 pounds while freshmen Brady Baker (133 pounds) and Trent Hoover (165) each qualified for the first time.

Noah Gnibus closed out his Pitt-Johnstown career with a fifth-place finish at 184 pounds while Trevon Gray capped his career with a sixth-place at 125 pounds after suffering an injury. The two-time All-American won 99 matches for the Mountain Cats over his career. Cooper Warshel also placed sixth at 157 pounds for the Mountain Cats.

CHAMPION
197 lbs. – Redshirt sophomore Brad Morrison made the most of his first Super Region I tournament. The top seed started his run with a 15-0 technical fall over Felician's Matt Murray in 3:28. He pinned Wheeling's Jaxon Burcher – the eighth seed – in 2:37 in the quarterfinals, then recorded a fall over fourth-seeded Jaxon Townsend of Millersville in 4:05 in the semifinals. In the finals, Morrison took the lead over second-seeded Joey Lyons of Gannon with a second-period escape, then scored a takedown in the final frame for a 4-0 victory and the 197-pound title.

SECOND-PLACE
149 lbs. – Top-seeded Matt Sarbo cruised through his first three bouts. He beat Shippensburg's Mason Trainor by technical fall, 23-8, in 5:12 in the first round. The two-time junior college national champion was just as dominant in the quarterfinal round, where he beat Felician's Justin Fearon 21-5 in 3:32. Sarbo pinned fourth-seeded Ali Alicea of Kutztown in 6:18 to advance to the finals. Sarbo fell to second-seeded Kenny Kiser of Gannon, 6-5, on a last-second takedown.

174 lbs. – True freshman Ty Morrison received a first-round bye as the top seed, then scored a 15-0 technical fall in 1:43 over eighth-seeded Joshua Alert of Bridgeport in the quarterfinals. Morrison matched that with a 17-2 technical fall in 3:38 over No. 4 Alexander Dorce of Felician in the semifinals. Morrison dropped a tight, 7-4, match to second-seeded Dalton Gimbor of Kutztown in the finals.

THIRD-PLACE
133 lbs. – Brady Baker made the most of his true freshman season with an impressive run at the Super Region I tournament. The fifth seed, Baker built an 11-0 lead over Bridgeport's Andres Mendoza before securing a pin in 2:25. Baker then upset fourth-seeded Trace Ragland of Fairmont State 10-4 in the quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal match with Tanner Halling, the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the nation. Baker pushed Halling to the brink in a 1-0 loss to the eventual champion. Baker pinned sixth-seeded Kyle Von Schmidt of Shippensburg in 3:55 to reach the consolation semifinals. With a spot in the NCAA tournament at stake, Baker scored a takedown in the final seconds for a 5-4 victory over third-seeded Javier DeLeon of Kutztown.

165 lbs. – Wrestling in the postseason for the first time, third-seeded Trent Hoover received a first-round bye before beating sixth-seeded Mason Buckler 4-2 of Frostburg State in the quarterfinals. A redshirt freshman, Hoover dropped a tough 9-7 match to second-seeded Nick Delp of Shippensburg in the semifinals. Hoover rebounded with an 11-4 victory over No. 5 Chase Bish of Millersville. Hoover clinched his spot in South Dakota with a 7-5 victory over fourth-seeded Bailey Gimbor of Kutztown in the consolation final.

285 lbs. – Isaiah Vance entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed and seeking a fourth trip to the NCAA tournament. After a first-round bye, he pinned Seton Hill's Ritchie McCormack in 1:14. Third-seeded Freddie Retter of Kutztown upset Vance with a second-period pin in the semifinals, but the Mountain Cats heavyweight bounced back to pin Fairmont State's Tyler Wise in 1:19. Vance scored an 18-2 technical fall over fourth-seeded Gavin Harper of Wheeling to earn a trip to South Dakota.

FIFTH-PLACE
184 lbs. – Fourth--seeded Noah Gnibus picked up a first-round bye before falling 6-4 to No. 5 Cooper Durst of Fairmont State in the quarterfinals. Gnibus scored a 15-2 major decision over No. 8 Riley Boos of Felician before falling 7-4 in sudden victory to second-seeded Cole Casilio of Kutztown. Gnibus closed out his Pitt-Johnstown career with a victory, beating sixth-seeded Andrew Wolfanger of Fairmont State 8-2 for fifth place.

SIXTH-PLACE
125 lbs. – Trevon Gray saw his quest for a fourth regional title come to a painful end. A two-time All-American who was ranked first nationally, Gray rolled into the semifinals with a 52-second fall over Bridgeport's Christian Mendoza in the first round and a 12-3 major decision of Felician's Marcus Lowry in the quarterfinals. Gray suffered an injury against fourth-seeded Jacob Houpt of Seton Hill in the semifinals and was forced to default. Wearing a shoulder brace, Gray tried to make his way back through the consolation bracket, but he lost by fall to Millersville's Gavin Boland, the No. 6 seed. Gray lost by medical forfeit to finish sixth. He ends his career with 99 victories.

157 lbs. – Looking to recapture the magic that led him to a 2024 regional title, Cooper Warshel got off to a strong start with a 16-1 technical fall over Wheeling's Bradley Spencer in the first round. He dropped a 5-2 decision to third-seeded Richie DeVulvio of Millersville in the quarterfinals but bounced back with a 14-3 major decision over fourth-seeded John D'Amico of Frostburg State. A takedown in sudden victory sent Warshel past Kutztown's John Horton, 4-1, and into the consolation semifinals. Top-seeded Mike Zacur beat Warshel 8-2 there, and the redshirt junior lost by medical forfeit to eighth-seeded Mike Ryan of Bridgeport in the fifth-place match.
