Box Score Cary, NC. — Three players enjoyed multi-hit games as Pitt-Johnstown dismantled Pace (NY) in an 11-3 victory on Sunday morning at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The Mountain Cats moved to 7-5 on the year behind two hits apiece from Alex Ebeling, Karson Reffner and Lucas Muffie.
Brody Roberts singled to lead off the third and Ebeling followed with a walk before both scored on a 2-RBI triple from Zac LeGars. Calvin Iseminger tacked on a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Iseminger then smacked a two-out, RBI double to score LeGars in the fifth and extend it to 4-0.
The Mountain Cats broke it open in the seventh. Tyler Danko walked with the bases loaded to score a run before Reffner recorded a 2-RBI double that made it 7-0. Tate Minich cracked a 2-RBI triple and Aidan Steinbugl pushed the lead to 10-0 on an RBI groundout.
Jared Dowey secured the victory on the mound, tossing six scoreless innings on just six hits with three strikeouts compared to one walk.
Pitt-Johnstown visits Shepherd for a non-conference matchup at 2 p.m. Friday.
