PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. — The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf team shot 30-over-par 606 over two rounds to finish fourth out of 17 teams at Ohio Dominican's Pawleys Island Beach Bash on Monday and Tuesday at Founders Club at Pawleys Island.

Grayden Laird fired rounds of 2-under-par 70 and even-par 72 to tie two other players for fourth place at 2-under 146 in the 118-player field.

Mauricio Hernandez shot 4-over-par 76 in the first round before rebounding with an even-par 72 in the second to tie two other players for 10th place.

Sophomore Lucas Smith was at 9-over-par 81 after the opening round but bounced back with a 3-over 75 in the second round to tie five others for 32nd.

A day after shooting a 13-over 85, Eli Ropietski posted a 4-over 76 to tie one other player for 58th place and round out Pitt-Johnstown's top four.

Griffin Hansberry, who was among the top six for the Mountain Cats, finished tied for 69th at 21-over 165. David Razinskas rounded out the team by tying for 85th at 24-over 168.

Four players competed as individuals, including Giovanni Vezza, who shot 19-over 163 to tie four others for 63rd. Tyler Mocello and Dom Cerilli each shot 22-over 166 to tie for 75th.

Parker Hilchey tied for 90th at 25-over 169.

Wayne State captured the team title with a 4-over-par 580, finishing seven strokes ahead of runner-up Gannon. Wayne State's Josh Lahner took the individual title at 2-under 142, one stroke ahead of two others.

Pitt-Johnstown will host the Appalachian Collegiate on March 16-17 at Blacksburg Country Club in Blacksburg, Virginia.
