BEDFORD, Pa. — Pitt-Johnstown shot a 29-over par 605 over 36 holes to finish eighth out of 15 teams at its Bedford Springs Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Omni Bedford Springs Resort.
After trailing by one stroke at the end of the first round, Glenville State fired a 7-over 295 to win the team title with a 15-over 591, one stroke better than runner-up finishers West Liberty and West Chester.
Glenville State's Hector Arriaga and West Liberty's Adam Gill each carded an even-par 72 in round two and finished at 2-under 142 to share medalist honors.
Griffin Hansberry, Mark Yan and Eli Ropietski all turned in a 7-over 151 to check into a tie for 32nd. David Razinskas tied for 44th at 9-over 153, while Mauricio Hernandez tied four others for 51st with a 10-over 154.
All three of the Mountain Cats' highest finishers came from their B team, which finished 15th. Giovanni Vezza recorded a 4-over 148 and tied six others for 12th. Meanwhile, Tyler Mocello and Lucas Smith, who was fourth after day one, tied for 19th at 5-over 149.
Parker Hilchey checked in 85th at 19-over 163, and Dom Cerilli was alone in 87th at 20-over 164.
Pitt-Johnstown will compete in the NCAA Atlantic/East Regionals on May 7-9 at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown.
