The Mountain Cats could not limit the Crimson Hawks' bats as Pitt-Johnstown dropped a pair PSAC West games to Indiana (PA) on Thursday's Senior Day at Point Stadium. Game one was a close one, entering the seventh inning with a lead, but IUP came away with a 6-3 victory. Then the Hawks controlled game two the entire way, winning 11-2.

Pitt-Johnstown fell to 17-31 (7-19 PSAC) and will conclude their season Saturday with a doubleheader at IUP.

Head Coach George Roberts and the Pitt-Johnstown baseball program recognized six seniors…Seth Coleman, Jared Dowey, Brian Prione, Riley Roskopf, Cole Sansom, and Ben Tomb.

Game 1: Indiana (PA) 6, Pitt-Johnstown 3

The Mountain Cats jumped out to an early lead, courtesy of a run-scoring single from Calvin Iseminger, scoring Alex Ebeling.

From there, Pitt-Johnstown's starting pitcher, Jimmy Kunst settled in, tossing five scoreless frames. Then in the sixth, he ran into some trouble, allowing a solo home run and then a go-ahead single.

Pitt-Johnstown immediately responded as Iseminger drove in Lucas Muffie to tie the game on a double. Then Aaron Smearman drove in Iseminger on a go-ahead single.

The Mountain Cats couldn't hold onto the lead as IUP stormed in front with a four-run seventh inning.

Roman Donis suffered the loss in relief, allowing three runs off three hits. Kunst threw six innings, allowing three runs (two earned), three hits, four walks, and struck out four.

Ebeling picked up his 100th career hit with his second single of the game.

Game 2: Indiana 11, Pitt-Johnstown 2

The Crimson Hawks got off to a fast start, taking advantage of two walks and a double steal. That allowed them to score on back-to-back sacrifice flyouts.

In the bottom half of the first, Muffie tied the game with a two-run homer to left, scoring Ebeling.

The Crimson Hawks took the lead again in the third inning with two runs and then repeated in the fourth and fifth.

Another run in the sixth and two more in the seventh put this way out of reach for the Mountain Cats, ending this game at 11-2.

Pirone took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) across four innings. Mason Pfeil tossed one and one-third, allowing three runs. Seth Coleman and Sansom both spun two-thirds of an inning to close it out.
