Baseball Falls in Slugfest at Shepherd

Drew Westover (Flinton, Pa.) had four hits, including a homerun and four RBI, but Shepherd (WV) University built a nine-run lead and held off the Mountain Cats, 15-13, Sunday afternoon in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Pitt-Johntown is now 1-2.
Shepherd opened-up a 15-6 lead after six innings, before Pitt-Johnstown scored six in the seventh and one eighth.
Westover went 4-for-5 with a homer, a triple and four RBI, while Seth Roy (Bedford, Pa.) had four hits and drove in two, and Josh Campanella (Allison Park, Pa.) collected four hits. Drew Shaulis (Somerset, Pa.) and Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) each had three hits and three RBI. Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) added two hits and a pair of RBI, and Andy Rubal (Johnstown, Pa.) chipped in two hits for the Mountain Cats, who finished the day with 22 hits.
Jon Fees (Carrolltown, Pa.) suffered the loss on the mound after surrendering seven runs (3 earned) on nine hits in three innings.
With the win, Shepherd improved to 2-1.
The Mountain Cats travel to Fort Pierce, FL to play nine games from March 6-11.
