03/30/2006

Head Coach Todd Williams' Mountain Cat baseball team rallied for two runs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the score, before scoring three more runs in the 10th inning to earn a 10-7 victory at Salem International (WV) University Thursday afternoon. Sophomore second baseman Dan Delsignore (Johnstown, Pa.) hammered a pair of homeruns and added two doubles to help Pitt Johnstown improve to 14-8.
Delsignore finished a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI's, while senior third baseman Casey Long (Johnstown, Pa.) chipped in three hits, including his ninth homerun of the season, and three RBI's. Outfielders Cody Gallaher (Sidman, Pa.) and Matt Hanley (Delmont, Pa.) each had two hits. Junior lefthander Adam Plummer (Bellwood, Pa.) earned his first win of the 2006 season after pitching 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Plummer surrendered just one hit and struckout three Salem International hitters.
With the loss, Salem International dropped to 2-20 on the season.
The Mountain Cats travel to Farimont State (WV) University on Saturday, before hosting a doubleheader against Fairmont State to open the 2006 home schedule on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at George R. Walter Field.
