Mountain Cats Swept at Seton Hill

Head Coach Todd Williams' Mountain Cat baseball team fell to 5-9 on the season after suffering a 4-3 loss in eight innings and a 3-1 loss Wednesday afternoon at Seton Hill University.
Sophomore outfielder Matt Hanley (Delmont, Pa.) went-2-for-4 with a pair of RBI, but Seton Hill scratched out a run in the eighth inning off of Mountain Cat reliever Eric Faint (Johnstown, Pa.) to score a 4-3 win in Wednesday's opener. Freshman Dan Mangini (Lower Burrell, Pa.) had three hits in four at-bats, and senior catcher Paul Pentz (Johnstown, Pa.) collected two hits. Sophomore right hander Mike Jewart (Natrona Heights, Pa.) surrendered three runs on three hits in four innings of work, but go a no-decision.
In the nightcap, freshman outfielder Brad Dale's (Windber, Pa.) sacrifice fly in the fifth inning tied the score 1-1, but the Griffins added two more runs to take game two, 3-1. Senior first baseman Bill Colosimo (Summerhill, Pa.) had two hits for Pitt Johnstown. Junior right hander Zach Toth (Sarver, Pa.) suffered the loss after giving up two runs on five hits in five innings-pitched.
With the sweep, Seton Hill raised its record to 11-5.
The Mountain Cats travel to the University of Charleston (WV) for a four-game conference series on Saturday and Sunday.
