03/08/2005

The Mountain Cat baseball team dropped its fourth straight game when Cedarville (OH) University dealt Pitt Johnstown a 7-4 setback Tuesday evening in Fort Pierce, FL. Freshman shortstop Chris Turka (Natrona Heights, Pa.) led the Mountain Cats with two hits and three runs scored. With the loss, Pitt Johnstown fell to 4-4 on the season.
Along with Turka, who finished 2-for-2 at the plate, sophomore outfielder Adam Plummer (Bellwood, Pa.) drove in a pair of runs to lead the Mountain Cat offensive attack. Freshman pitcher Scott Parnell (Export, Pa.) fell to 0-1 after giving up seven runs (four earned runs) and eight hits in four innings-pitched. Sophomore right hander David Huey (Glen Campbell, Pa.) did not surrender a run and gave up just one hit in two innings of relief of Parnell. Huey also struckout three Cedarville hitters.
