Mountain Cats Defeat Seton Hill, 7-4, in 13 Innings

Junior shortstop Chris Turka (Natrona Heights, Pa.) delivered a two-run triple to highlight a three-run 13th inning to lead the Mountain Cats to a 7-4 win at Seton Hill University, Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Head Coach Todd Williams' team improved to 14-16.
The Mountain Cats battled back from a 4-2 deficit with a pair of runs in the eighth inning to force extra innings. After three scorless extra innings, Pitt Johnstown claimed the victory with three runs in the 13th inning on Turka's lone hit of the game.
Sophomore outfielder Matt Hanley (Delmont, Pa.) went 2-for-6, including his team leading fifth homerun of the year. Hanley also drove in two runs, while senior first baseman Bill Colosimo (Summerhill, Pa.) and freshman outfielder Brad Dale (Windber, Pa.) each had two hits. Freshman outfielder Dan Mangini (Lower Burrell, Pa.) added a solo homer to mark his first collegiate homerun.
Mountain Cat sophomore right hander Eric Faint (Johnstown, Pa.) pitched five scoreless innings in relief of David Huey (Glen Campbell, Pa.) to improve to 1-2. Faint scattered just two hits and struckout five. Sophomore Chuck Boring (Dilltown, Pa.) struckout all three batters in the bottom of the 13th inning to earn his first save. Huey tossed four innings and gave up two runs on just two hits. Huey also fanned five.
With the loss, Seton Hill dropped to 24-14 on the season.
The Mountain Cats travel to Concord (WV) University for a four-game WVIAC conference series on Saturday and Sunday.
