Baseball Falls, 15-8, to Davis & Elkins on Spring Trip

The Mountain Cat baseball team took a 5-4 lead into the sixth inning, before giving up 11 runs over the final four innings in a 15-8 loss to Davis & Elkins (WV) College Monday morning in Fort Pierce, FL. Pitt Johnstown is now 3-3 on the season.
Sophomore right hander Zach Toth (Sarver, Pa.) suffered the loss in relief of Adam Plummer (Bellwood, Pa.), who pitched the first three innings. Sophomore shortstop Chris Turka (Natrona Heights, Pa.) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Pitt Johnstown offensive attack. Casey Long (Johnstown, Pa.), Paul Pentz (Johnstown, Pa.) and Matt Hanley (Delmont, Pa.) all collected two hits for the Mountain Cats.
The Mountain Cats continue their Spring Trip in Fort Pierce, FL with a doubleheader against Susquehanna University on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
