Mountain Cats Earn 3-0 Win Over Salem International

Tyler Aldinger (Elizabethtown, Pa.) scored ninteen minutes into the match, before the Mountain Cats added two more goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 shutout victory over Salem International (WV) University, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats made it two straight wins and improved to 5-6-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the WVIAC.
Aldinger took Jeremy Jones' (Delta, Pa.) cross and beat Salem International goalkeeper Leonardo Tillemont in the 19th minute to give Pitt-Johnstown a 1-0 lead.
The Mountain Cats maintained the one-goal lead until the 52nd minute when Kevin Kearney (Wexford, Pa.) finished Clay Kubrick's (Pittsburgh, Pa.) cross to increase the lead to 2-0. Pitt-Johnstown finished the scoring and set the final at 3-0 on Cory Winwood's (Harwick, Pa.) unassisted goal after he dribbled through a pair of Tigers' defenders and found the back of the net.
Mike Cuccaro (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned the shutout in goal for Pitt-Johnstown, which outshot Salem International 35-2 and held a 13-1 advantage in shots on-goal. Cuccaro made one save to earn his first win of the year. Tillemont made 10 saves for the Tigers.
The Mountain Cats host a non-conference match against California University (PA) on Thursday at 3 p.m., before traveling to Seton Hill University for a WVIAC match on Tuesday.
