Mountain Cats Suffer 3-0 Loss at Charleston

Rob Vincent's goal 32 minutes into the match gave the University of Charleston (WV) a 1-0 halftime lead, before the Golden Eagles added two more goals in the second half on their way to handing the Mountain Cat soccer team a 3-0 road WVIAC loss on Sunday. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 5-5-0 overall and 3-4-0 in the WVIAC.
Vincent opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and put Charleston up 1-0 at the break.
One minute into the second half, Ryan Osborne scored on a header off of a throw-in to make it 2-0, before the Golden Eagles set the final at 3-0 when Dan Walmsley's header off of a corner kick found the back of the net in the 64th minute.
Mike Cuccaro (Pittsburgh, Pa.) played the first 76 minutes in goal for the Mountain Cats and allowed all three goals. Cuccaro made nine saves. Nolan Levine (McDonald, Pa.) played the final 14 minures and made one save. Sean Peepen earned the shutout for Charleston after making three saves.
With the victory, the Golden Eagles improved to 7-4-0 overall and 5-1-0 in conference-play.
The Mountain Cats travel to La Roche College for a non-conference match on Wednesday, before going to Slippery Rock University for another non-conference match on Saturday.
