The University of the District of Columbia scored a pair of first half goals and held on to hand the Mountain Cat soccer team a 2-1 non-conference road loss on Saturday. Bryce DeLizio (Chandler, AZ) scored the goal for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 6-7-0 on the year.
The Firebirds built a 2-0 lead with goals in the 16th and 28th minutes of play, before DeLizio finished Derik Swope's (Harleysville, Pa.) assist to cut the deficit to 2-1 with eight minutes to play in the first half.
Pitt-Johnstown had a chance to tie it midway through the second half, but Zeke Buchta (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) could not capitalize on a penalty kick, and UDC held on for the 2-1 victory.
