Men's Soccer Suffers 1-0 Loss at West Virginia Wesleyan

West Virginia Wesleyan College managed to get just one goal against Mountain Cat goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.), but it proved to be the game-winner, as Pitt-Johnstown suffered a tough 1-0 road loss, Friday night. With the loss, Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 6-7-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the WVIAC.
Brett Fackenthal found the back of the net two minutes into the match, and the Bobcats were able to hold that slim lead for the next 88 minutes to defeat the Mountain Cats 1-0.
Neff faced 18 West Virginia Wesleyan shots and made six saves, but took the loss and fell to 6-7-1 on the season. West Virginia Wesleyan George Rowley earned the shutout after seeing 11 Mountain Cat shots and making seven saves. Rowley is now 8-4-1.
With the victory, West Virginia Wesleyan improved to 8-4-1 overall and took over first place in the WVIAC with a 6-1-1 conference record.
Pitt-Johnstown returns home to host a WVIAC match against Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Tuesday 4:00 p.m., before traveling to Ohio Valley (WV) University for another conference match on Saturday, October 18.
