Men's Soccer Opens With 1-0 Overtime Loss at U.D.C.

The University of the District of Columbia netted the match's lone goal on an overtime penalty kick to deal Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat soccer team a 1-0 road loss to open the 2009 season. Senior goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) made two saves for Pitt-Johnstown.
U.D.C.'s Said Nabih beat Neff on a penalty kick eight minutes into the first overtime period to lead the Firebirds to the 1-0 win.
The Firebirds out shot the Mountain Cats 18-7 and held an 8-2 advantage in shots on-goal. U.D.C. goalkeeper Kareem Gray made two saves to help the Firebirds improve to 1-0-1.
The Mountain Cats will make their 2009 home debut on Tuesday against Waynesburg University at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown soccer field, before hosting the 2009 Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Kick-Off Classic on Sept. 6-7.
