Men's Soccer Falls in Overtime at U.D.C.

Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat soccer team held a 1-0 halftime lead at University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, but the Firebirds battled back to defeat Pitt Johnstown, 2-1, in overtime. The Mountain Cats, who travel to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Tuesday for a WVIAC Quarterfinal match, finished the 2007 regular season with a 10-6-2 overall record.
Junior forward Arik Misler (Johnstown, Pa.) gave the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead with his team-leading 10th goal of the season 17th minute. Pitt Johnstown held that lead until U.D.C. tied the scored in the 75th minute to force overtime. The Firebirds then ended the match with a goal four minutes into the extra period.
Mountain Cat goalkeepers Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) and Michael LoPresti (Karns City, Pa.) each spent time in net. Neff played the first half and made one save, while LoPresti played the second half and overtime and made one save. However, LoPresti surrendered both goals and took the loss to fall to 2-2-0.
The Mountain Cats begin the post season on Tuesday at Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College in the WVIAC Quarterfinals. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
