Women's Soccer Falls 4-0 at WV Wesleyan

West Virginia Wesleyan College broke open a 1-0 halftime lead with three second half goals to deal the Lady Cat soccer team a 4-0 loss on Wednesday. Pitt-Johnstown had its three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 5-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the WVIAC.
West Virginia Wesleyan took a 1-0 halftime lead after Sarah Snyder beat Lady Cat goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) off of Megan Zayas' assist in the 40th minute.
Brittany Clark increased the Bobcats' lead to 2-0 with a goal six minutes into the second half, before Courtney Cole found the back of the net in the 67th minute. West Virginia Wesleyan ended the scoring and set the final score at 4-0 on Aleisha Rees' goal in the last minute of play.
Paha made six saves, but surrendered all four goals and fell to 3-4-0 on the year. Madison Edwards made two saves for the Bobcats, who outshot the Lady Cats 19-3, to earn the shutout.
With the win, West Virginia Wesleyan improved to 4-4-1 oveall and 3-0-1 in conference play.
The Lady Cats will host a non-conference match against Penn State-DuBois on Saturday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Seton Hill University for a WVIAC match on Wednesday.
