Women's Soccer Falls, 3-2, at Home to West Virginia Wesleyan

Head Coach Crystal Dye's women's soccer team battled back from a 2-0 deficit 12 minutes into the match to tie the score, but visiting West Virginia Wesleyan College scored a goal in the 71st minute to defeat Pitt Johnstown, 3-2 on Monday. Pitt Johnstown, which had won four straight entering the match, is now 6-2-0 on the year.
West Virginia Wesleyan's Katie Schubert got the Bobcats on the scoreboard just :46 into the match, before she followed with her second goal at 11:57 to increase the lead to 2-0. However, Pitt Johnstown cut the lead to one when freshman forward Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) scored an unassisted goal at 32:03. Pitt Johnstown scored again on freshman midfielder Krysten Medzie's (Clearfield, Pa.) goal at 33:51 to tie the score. Unfortunately for Pitt Johnstown, Schubert took a pass from Jill Morrison and scored her third goal of the match at 70:20 to give the Bobcats a 3-2 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Anna Yarnall (Allentown, Pa.) made seven saves for Pitt Johnstown, but suffered the loss and dropped to 6-2-1. West Virginia Wesleyan goal keeper Lauren Hessian surrendered just two goals and made six saves to earn the win.
With the victory, West Virginia Wesleyan made it four straight wins and improved to 6-5-0 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Salem International (WV) University on Saturday, before returning home to host Davis & Elkins (WV) College, on Wednesday, October 11 at 4:00 p.m.
