Lady Cat Soccer Falls 1-0 at Concord

Tori Faulkner scored in the 24th minute for Concord (WV) University and the Mountain Lions made it stand up on their way to handing the Lady Cat soccer team a 1-0 WVIAC road loss, Saturday afternoon in Athen, WV. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 1-5-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WVIAC.
Faulkner's unassisted goal past Lady Cat goalkeeper Victoria Der Vanik (Bridgeville, Pa.) 24 minutes into the match was all Concord would need.
Der Vanik faced 13 shots and made five saves, but surredered the match's lone goal. Kacey Hildebrand saw 14 Pitt-Johnstown shots and made 10 saves to earn the shutout for Concord.
With the victory, Concord improved to 1-4-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
The Lady Cats return home to host a WVIAC match against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday as part of a doubleheader with the Mountain Cats. Kick-off for the women's match is set for 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
