Tiffin Defeats Women's Soccer, 7-2 at Findlay Tournament

Sophomore forward Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) scored two goals, but it wasn't enough, as Tiffin (OH) University earned a 7-2 victory over the Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team in Saturday's opening round of the University of Findlay (OH) Tournament. With the loss, Head Coach Crystal Dye's team dropped to 3-2-0 on the year.
Zack notched her first goal and gave Pitt Johnstown a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute, but Tiffin answered with a goal of its own just :13 later. After Pitt Johnstown gave up goals in the 38th and 57th minutes, Zack found the back of the net again to cut Tiffin's lead to 3-2 in the 65th minute. However, Tiffin went on to add four more goals over the last 15 minutes to set the final score at 7-2.
Red-shirt freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) suffered the loss and fell to 3-2-0 after making six saves and giving up five goals in 78 minutes of action. Junior goalkeeper Tracy Sims (Coraopolis, Pa.) played the last 12 minutes of the match and surrendered a pair of goals.
With the victory, Tiffin improved to 5-3-0.
Pitt Johnstown will finish the University of Findlay Tournament against the host school on Sunday at noon. The team will play its next home match against Carlow University on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m.
