Head Coach Todd William's Mountain Cat baseball team was ranked ninth with a 30-18 overall record in the final 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountain Cats posted a 2-2 record at last weekend's WVIAC Tournament at the Point Stadium. Pitt-Johnstwon opened the tournament with a loss to West Virginia State University, before defeating Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College and Concord (WV) University. The Mountain Cats' season came to an end with a 3-2 loss to West Virginia State in the conference semifinals.
Kutztown University kept the top-spot with 79 points. West Chester University was second with 67 points, while PSAC Tournament Champion California University (PA) (60 points), WVIAC Tournament Champion Seton Hill University (56 points) and West Virginia State University (45 points) rounded out the top-five.
The Atlantic Region consists of NCAA Division II schools from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC), Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIAA).
