Jasmine Harper had 29 points and 17 rebounds, and
Nicole Carman added 23 points and 18 rebounds, but it was enough as Point Park University held off the Lady Cats, 110-107 in double overtime, in Friday season-opener at the Davis & Elkins classic in Elkins, W.Va.

Carman's lay-up with 3:02 remaining in regulation gave the Lady Cats a nine-point lead, but Point Park outscored Pitt-Johnstown 10-0 over the next two minutes to regain the lead by one. Harper then hit a free-throw with 44 seconds to knot it at 87 and send it to the first overtime.

In the first overtime, Pitt-Johnstown held a slim 98-96 advantage, but Kayla Kiriau's tip-in with 37 seconds left forced the second overtime.

It just wasn't to be for the Lady Cats. Point Park led 108-105 with 53 seconds remaining in the second overtime, before Harper connected on two more free-throws to get the Lady Cats to within one. However, Point Park forced a late turnover, and Kelly Johnson sealed the three-point win by hitting two free-throws with just three seconds left on the clock.

Along with Harper and Carman's efforts,
Kelsey Sleighter scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out seven assists, while
Kayla DeCriscio chipped-in 12 points and four rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown also got eight points, five rebounds, and six assists from
Dominique Smith, and six points from
Jamie Tabon in the loss.

Johnson poured in a game-high 31 points, and Kiriau added 20 points to lead four Point Park players who scored in double figures.
The Lady Cats close out the Davis & Elkins Classic against Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday, before making their 2014-15 home debut against Clarion University on Tuesday as part of a PSAC doubleheader with the Mountain Cats. The Lady Cats will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Center, with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.Â
