Northwood (Fla.) University scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to erase a one-run deficit on its way to handing the Mountain Cats a 5-2 loss, Tuesday afternoon in Fort Pierce, Fla. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 3-8 on the season.

After trailing 2-1 through eight innings, Northwood struck for three runs in the ninth off of
Brantley Rice, before tacking on one more off of
Elliott Chamberlain to secure the come-from-behind victory.

Nate Pope got the start and allowed one run on six hits over the first 3.2 innings. Pope also struck out five and didn't allow a walk.

Mike Palkovitz,
Jake Stern, and
Matt McGhee had two hits each for the Mountain Cats.Â
Brett Marabito had an RBI triple, and
Matt McMillen added an RBI double in the loss.

With the win, Northwood improved to 13-7-1.
