Palm Beach Atlantic scored three runs in the eighth inning to break open a tie game en route to a 9-6 victory over the Mountain Cats, Wednesday afternoon in Fort Pierce, Fla.Â
Jake Stern had two hits for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 3-9.

The Sailfish opened-up a six-run advantage in the fourth inning, but the Mountain Cats answered with a run in the bottom of the frame and five more in the fifth inning on run-producing base hits from
Mike Palkovitz, Stern, and
Matt McGhee.

However, Palm Beach Atlantic got to Pitt-Johnstown relievers
Brad Ditzler for two runs and
Logan Fluke for another in the three-run eighth.

Stern went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs, while
Dillon Boyer had two hits, including a double and an RBI, for the Mountain Cats.

Ditzler suffered the loss after allowing two runs on two hits in just one-third of an inning.Â
Ryan Bills got the start for Pitt-Johnstown and surrendered six runs on 11 hits over the first four innings.

The Mountain Cats close out their spring trip in Florida against Mercy (NY) College on Thursday, and Southern Connecticut State University on Friday.
