The 19th-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers raced out to a 15-0 lead, then got a pin from D.J. Sims in the final bout to seal a 24-13 victory over eighth-ranked Lake Erie (OH) College, Friday night in the Sports Center.  The Mountain Cats extended their winning streak to eight straight matches and improved to 9-1 on the year.... Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a 15-0 lead with four straight wins to open the night.  Evan Link won by forfeit at 125 lbs., and Corey bush got a third-period escape to break a scoreless tie and edge Ian Ross 1-0 at 133 lbs.
 
The Mountain Cats kept it going.  Sixth-ranked Sam Hanau built a 7-0 and dealt Nick Boggs an 8-2 loss at 141 lbs., before Cole Landowski's third period escape at 149 lbs. led him to a 3-2 victory over Chayse Csongedi and extended the lead to 15-0.
 
Lake Erie brought the streak to an end and got the Storm on the scoreboard with a 14-4 win by Christian Baughman at 157 lbs., before All-American Matt Vandermeer held off seventh-ranked Tyler Reinhart, 2-1 in overtime, to cut Pitt-Johnstown's lead to 15-7.
 
John Blankenship answered for the Mountain Cats at 174 lbs. with a convincing 7-0 shutout over Nicholas Vandermeer to increase the lead back to 11 at 18-7.
 
Back-to-back decision wins by Lake Erie at 184 and 197 lbs. narrowed it to 18-13 with just one bout remaining.
 
The Storm needed a pin to overtake Pitt-Johnstown.  However, it was Sims who came up big for the Mountain Cats.  Sims closed it out by pinning Tyler Hughes at 5:52 and sealing the 24-13 victory for Pitt-Johnstown.
 
With the loss, Lake Erie slipped to 10-5 on the year.
 
Pitt-Johnstown host a tri-match with Ohio Valley (WV) and Tiffin (OH) on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center, before celebrating Senior Night against Shippensburg on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
