Shippensburg used two big innings in each game of Tuesday's non-conference doubleheader to break open close games on its way to sweeping the Mountain Cats, 5-0, and 8-3 in Shippensburg.Â
Sean Sleigh collected four hits in the doubleheader for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 4-28.

In game one, Shippensburg broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the fifth inning, before adding two more in the sixth in the 5-0 win.

Sleigh singled and doubled for Pitt-Johnstown, while
Jake Stern and
Mason Prickett each collected base hits.

Camden Hess (0-1) suffered the loss in relief of starter
Shane Supanick after allowing three earned runs in the fifth inning. Supanick pitched the first 3.2 innings and held the Red Raiders scoreless on just three hits.Â
Nathan Bearer tossed the final 1.1 innings and surrendered two runs (1 earned).

In game two, Shippensburg scored four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth on its way to completing the sweep with an 8-3 victory.

Luke Williams went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, and Sleigh had two hits and drove in one. The Mountain Cats also got two hits from
Ernesto Rizzitano.

Ken Gault started and held Shippensburg to just one run on two hits in four innings. However, the Red Raiders scored four runs off of
Tyler Black and three off of
Justin Beimel to pull away.

With the sweep, Shippensburg evened its overall record at 16-16.

The Mountain Cats will play a four-game PSAC Western Division series against Indiana University (PA) on Friday and Saturday. Pitt-Johnstown will play a doubleheader at IUP on Friday, then host the Crimson Hawks for a pair of games on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.Â
