Victoria Moreland had a career-high 19 points, and
Olivia McCabe added 16 points and seven rebounds, but East Stroudsburg University built a 10-point second half lead and held off the Lady Cats, 65-62, in Sunday's PSAC Crossover game in East Stroudsburg. Pitt-Johnstown suffered its first loss and slipped to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC West.

Nicole Corcoran's 3-pointer gave Pitt-Johnstown a slim one-point lead four minutes into the game. McCabe followed with a basket to make it 13-9, before Moreland and Corcoran hit 3-pointers in the final minute to give the Lady Cats a 19-13 lead.

East Stroudsburg got a bucket from Nicole Powell early in the second quarter to get the Warriors to within two, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Moreland and
Maurina Nunn at 7:07 put Pitt-Johnstown back in front, 27-21. However, East Stroudsburg outscored the Lady Cats 17-4 over the final seven minutes to build a seven point lead of its own. Madison Tamburini's 3-pointer at the five-minute mark gave the lead back to the Warriors, before two of Imana Brown's 13 first half points with one second on the clock made it 38-31.

Jordan Hertz's 3-pointer to open the third quarter stretched the run to 20-4 and extended the East Stroudsburg lead to 10, Pitt-Johnstown got two more 3-pointers from Moreland in an 11-3 run that narrowed it to 44-42 at 6:38. Brown's jumper and free-throw two minutes later pushed the Warriors' lead back up to five, but McCabe's short jumper with a minute to go got the Lady Cats to within one at 52-51 entering the fourth quarter.

Another basket from McCabe gave the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown, and Moreland's basket made it 58-56 at 6:43. The Warriors scored the next five to retake the lead on Powell's basket. The Lady Cats narrowed it to three, and had a chance to tie, but Laurel O-Barto's 3-pointer would not fall, and East Stroudsburg hung on for the 65-62 win.

Along with Moreland and McCabe, the Lady cats also got nine points and five rebounds from O'Barto, and seven points, four rebounds, and eight assists from
Jamie Tabon.

Pitt-Johnstown shot 45.5% (27-55) from the field, while holding the Warriors to just 36.2% (25-69) shooting. The Lady Cats hit 8-17 from 3-point range and 4-8 from the Charity stripe. East Stroudsburg was 6-23 from behind the 3-point line, but connected on 9-11 of their free-throws.

Brown finished with a game-highs 20 points and eight rebounds to help the Warriors improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC East. Allison Howard had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Rachel Falkowski and Hertz chipped-in eight points apiece.

The Lady Cats travel to a non-conference game at Lincoln on November 28, before making their 2016-17 home debut with conference doubleheaders with the Mountain Cats against Kutztown on December 3 and Mansfield on December 4 in the Sports Center.Â
