Pitt-Johnstown opened-up a 16-point second half lead, then gave it up, before outscoring Lock Haven University by 12 over the final seven minutes to secure a 90-79 PSAC Crossover victory, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.Â

A.J. Leahey each scored 20 points for the Mountain Cats, who improved to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC Western Division.

Dale Clancy's lay-up as time expired gave Pitt-Johnstown a 43-31 halftime advantage.

The Mountain Cats held the momentum and got a basket from
Isaac Vescovi three minute into the second half that increased it to 15, and Leahey's bucket in the paint extended it to 58-42 with 14:47 to play.

After Clancy's 3-pointer at 12:11 got Pitt-Johnstown's lead back to 16, the Bald Eagles answered with a 22-5 run over the next five minutes to take their first lead of the day at 69-68 on Tarojae Brake's 3-pointer.

However, the Mountain Cats recovered and quickly regained the lead on
Rasaun Mosley's lay-up. Pitt-Johnstown used the basket to outscore Lock Haven 18-6 the rest of the way. The Mountain Cats connected on 10 straight free-throws in the final 1:18 to seal the win.

Leahey had 20 points and seven rebounds, and Laravie added 20 points, including 8-8 from the free-throw line to lead a balanced Pitt-Johnstown attack. Vescovi had 18 points, and Clancy finished with nine points, six rebounds, and a game-high seven assists. The Mountain Cats also got eight points eight points and a career-high 15 rebounds from Masua, eight points from Mosley, and seven points and four rebounds from Wise.

With his 20 points, Leahey moved into 14
th-place on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,246 points. He also stands in fourth-place on the all-time 3-point field goals list with 197.

Pitt-Johnstown, which held a 43-27 advantage on the glass, shot 50.8% (31-61) from the field, 6-16 from 3-point range, and 22-24 from the free-throw line. Lock Haven ended the day shooting 47.0% (31-66) from the floor, 6-13 from behind the 3-point line, and 11-17 from the charity stripe.

Amir Hinton had a game-high 23 points, and Craig Slade chipped-in 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead four Bald Eagles who scored in double figures.

With the loss, Lock Haven dropped to 5-4 overall and 1-4 in the PSAC Eastern Division.

Pitt-Johnstown will break for Finals Week and the holidays, before hosting a PSAC doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Clarion on December 30 starting at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
