A.J. Leahey recorded game-highs of 23 points and nine rebounds to help the Mountain Cats open-up a 26-point second half advantage in a 100-80 non-conference win over Penn State-Greater Allegheny, Wednesday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 6-4.

Levi Masua increased the lead into double-digits at the nine-minute mark and Leahey's lay-up and free-throw made it 30-15.

Pitt-Johnstown increased it to 19 at 47-29 on Masua's 3-point play, before the Lions outscored the Mountain Cats 9-0 over the final 2:15 to narrow the gap to 47-37 at the half on Juwan Butler McDaniels' 3-pointer.

Penn State-Greater Allegheny got as close as six on a 3-pointer from Jeremy McMunn 2:28 into the second half, but Pitt-Johnstown was able to pull away.

Three straight free-throw by
Jake Laravie pushed it out to 22, and
Isaac Vescovi's jumper with 3:11 to play gave the Mountain Cats their largest lead of the game at 98-72.

Leahey's 23 points and nine rebounds led three Pitt-Johnstown players who scored in double figures. Vescovi had 18 points and six rebounds, while
Dale Clancy finished with 17 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points from Wise, eight points and seven rebounds from Masua, and seven points apiece from
Rasaun Mosley and Laravie.

With his 23 points, Leahey currently stands in 16
th-place on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,226 points. He also stands in fourth-place on the all-time 3-point field goals list with 195.

Pitt-Johnstown, which held a lopsided 43-26 advantage in rebounding, shot 57.4% (39-68) from the field, 9-16 from 3-point range, and 13-16 from the free-throw line. Penn State-Greater Allegheny ended the night shooting 42.4% (28-66) from the floor, 13-21 from behind the 3-point line, and 11-13 from the charity stripe.

Khari Hicks and Curtis Newby each scored 14 points to lead the Lions, who slipped to 7-3 on the year.

The Mountain Cats host a PSAC Crossover doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Lock Haven on Saturday. The Lady Cats will tip-off at 1 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m. Pitt-Johnstown will then break for Finals Week and the holidays, before hosting another PSAC doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Clarion on December 30 starting at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
