Jake Stern connected for a pair of homeruns and drove in seven runs, and
Nate Negri had seven RBI to lead the Mountain Cat baseball team to an 18-13 and 14-8 non-conference doubleheader sweep over Shippensburg University, Friday afternoon at Point Stadium. Pitt-Johnstown extended its winning streak to five straight games and evened its record at 7-7.

In the opener, Pitt-Johnstown erased a 6-0 deficit with 10 runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth and went on to outslug Shippensburg, 18-13.

Nate Negri went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and five RBI, while Stern belted a homerun and collected four RBI to lead the Mountain Cats.Â
Joe Gagliardi had three hits, and
Ernesto Rizzitano and Dylan Boyer each had three RBI.Â
Luke Williams had two RBI, and added two hits.

Brantley Rice started and pitched the first five innings to improve to 2-0. Rice surrendered eight runs, but just three were earned eight Shippensburg hits.

In game two, the Mountain Cats scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to build a 14-6 advantage, before holding off the Raiders, 14-8.

Stern had three more hits, including his fifth homerun of the year and three more RBI, and Negri had a single, two doubles and a pair of RBI.Â
Luke Smeltz drove in three, and Williams had two hits and two RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.

Shane Supanick tossed one inning in relief to earn his second victory of the season.Â
Camden Hess started and held Shippensburg to just one run on two hits in the no-decision.

With the losses, the raiders fell to 5-10.

The Mountain Cats travel to Shippensburg for a nine-inning game on Saturday and to Shepherd (WV) on Tuesday, before opening the PSAC schedule next Friday and Saturday with a four-game home-and-home series against Slipper Rock.Â
