Shepherd (WV) University belted four homeruns in an 11-4 win to open a non-conference doubleheader, Tuesday afternoon in Shepherdstown, W.Va., before scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off with an 8-7 victory in the nightcap. The Mountain Cats slipped to 7-10 on the year.
In game one, Shepherd used four homeruns to build a 10-4 advantage in the fifth inning, before going on to the 11-4 victory.
Pitt-Johnstown jumped on Shepherd starter Jamie Driver for a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
Jake Stern's fielder's choice scored
Ernesto Rizzitano from third, and
Luke Williams' sacrifice fly chased home
Dillon Boyer to make it 2-0.
However, Christian Hamel blasted a grand slam in the bottom of the frame quickly put the Rams on top.

Shepherd went on to added three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth on its way to the victory.
Williams went 2-for-2 with a solo homer in the fourth inning and two RBI to lead the Mountain Cats.
Nate Negri and Rizzitano added a base hit apiece, while Boyer and Stern each had an RBI.
Along with Hamel, J.J. Sarty, Daniel Heleine, and Sam Crater also hit homeruns for Shepherd.
Driver and John Bentley combined to hold Pitt-Johnstown to four runs on just four hits.
Tyler Black suffered the loss for the Mountain Cats and slipped to 0-1 after surrendering five runs on four hits in just 1.1 innings.

In game two, Sarty's walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning erased a one-run deficit and gave Shepherd the sweep with an 8-7 win.
Shepherd built a 3-0 lead through three innings, but Pitt-Johnstown scratched out a run in the top of the fourth on
Luke Smeltz's RBI single.
The Mountain Cats took the lead with four runs in the fifth. Boyer doubled down the right field line to drive in Rizzitano and
Devon Walker, and Stern's single through the left side scored Boyer. Stern then came around to score on Smeltz's base hit to left center.
Boyer's RBI double and Stern's RBI single in the Pitt-Johnstown sixth increased the lead to 7-4, before Brandon Kirk connected for a two-run homerun in the Rams' sixth to narrow the gap to 7-6.
Chase Hoffman's homer to lead off Shepherd's bottom half of the seventh tied it at seven, and Sarty's walk-off single to left field scored Darius Jones from second to give the Rams the victory.
Boyer had two doubles and two RBI for Pitt-Johnstown, and Stern and Smeltz each had two hits and two RBI.
Eric Ford took the loss after allowing both runs in the Shepherd seventh inning.
Ken Gault started for the Mountain Cats and gave up two runs on five hits over the first two innings.
With the sweep, Shepherd improved to 6-4.
The Mountain Cats open the PSAC schedule against Slippery Rock this weekend. Pitt-Johnstown will host a doubleheader against The Rock on Friday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before traveling to Consol Energy Park in Washington, Pa. to conclude the four-game series on Sunday.
