Pitt-Johnstown came back from a 22-4 loss to Slippery Rock in Sunday's first game of a PSAC doubleheader at CONSOL Energy Park in Washington, Pa. with a 12-4 win in the nightcap behind
Luke Williams' go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning. The Mountain Cats took three of the four games in the series and improved to 10-11 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC Western Division.

Slippery Rock turned the tables on the Mountain Cats in the opener. On Saturday, Pitt-Johnstown scored 11 first inning runs, but on Sunday, The Rock scored 10 runs off
Luke Miller to race out to a 10-0 first inning lead en route the lopsided win.

Slippery Rock added three more runs in the second and seven more in the third, before a triple by
Jake Stern drove home
Nate Negri, and Devin Walker's fielder's choice plated Stern to get the Mountain Cats on the scoreboard in the fourth inning.

After Slippery Rock tacked on two more in its half of the fifth inning, Pitt-Johnstown got RBI from
Derek Cook and
Luke Smeltz in the seventh to set the final at 22-4.

Brent Barron and
Sean Sleigh each had two hits for the Mountain Cats, while Cook, Smeltz, Stern, and Walker had an RBI each.

Miller took the loss and dropped to 0-4 after allowing 10 runs (6 earned) on nine hits in just one inning of work.

Tyler Walters went 5-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI to lead The Rock. Matt Gordon improved to 3-1 following the complete-game on the mound for Slippery Rock.

In game two, the Mountain Cats scored 11 runs in the final two innings to erase a one-run deficit to secure the split with a 12-4 victory.

Trailing 2-1 entering the top of the sixth, Pitt-Johnstown got the two-run homerun from Williams to retake the lead, before
Ernesto Rizzitano's two-out, two-run single increased it to 5-2.

The Mountain Cats exploded for seven more runs in the seventh.Â
Sean Sleigh and
Dillon Boyer each had two-run doubles, and
Mason Prickett added an RBI triple.

Stern went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Sleigh and Boyer had two hits and two RBI, and Negri chipped-in two hits, including a homerun, for Pitt-Johnstown. Williams belted a two-run homer, and Rizzitano had two RBI in the win.

Tyler Black earned the win in relief of starter
Ken Gault. Black pitched the last two innings and held The Rock to two runs on six hits.  Gault allowed two runs (1 earned) on five hits over the first five innings. He also fanned five and didn't allow a walk.

With the loss, Slippery Rock dropped to 6-17 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC West.

Pitt-Johnstown will travel to Gannon University for a doubleheader to open a four-game PSAC series on Friday, before wrapping up the series against the Golden Knights with a doubleheader on Saturday.Â
