After suffering a 9-1 loss in the opener of a PSAC Western Division doubleheader to California University (PA), Pitt-Johnstown used homeruns from 
Scott Thompson, 
Sean Sleigh, and 
Luke Williams to secure the split with a 13-6 win in game two, Saturday night at Point Stadium.  The Mountain Cats closed out the 2016 season at 18-27 overall and 11-17 in the PSAC West.

In game one, California (PA) opened-up a 7-0 lead in the sixth inning and coasted to the 9-1 victory.
 
Bobby Thompson's sacrifice fly in the California (PA) second inning scored Joe Yourgal to give the Vulcans a 1-0 lead.
 
California (PA) scored two more in the fifth and four in the sixth, highlighted by Thompson's two-run double, that made it 7-0.
 

The Mountain Cats got on the board in the bottom of the frame when Jake stern doubled and scored on Sleigh's single to right-center.
 
However, the Vulcans tacked on two more in the seventh to set the final at 9-1.
 
Sleigh had two hits and Pitt-Johnstown's lone RBI, and Stern singled and doubled.
 
Brantley Rice took the loss and slipped to 4-3 after giving up six runs (5 earned) on seven California (PA) hits in 5.1 innings.
 
Garrett Brooks had three hits, and Thompson added two hits and drove in three for the Vulcans.
 
G.J Senchak pitched a complete-game and held Pitt-Johnstown to one run on nine hits to improve to 4-2.
 
In the nightcap, the Mountain Cats erased a 3-0 deficit with nine runs in the fifth inning and got a complete-game from Flute in the 13-6 win.
 

California (PA) took an early lead.  Mick Fennell lead off the game with a triple to right field and scored on Danny McGrath's ground out, and Austin Logan's RBI single in the second made it 2-0.
 
After the Vulcans added another run in the third, Pitt-Johnstown came back with an RBI double from Stern and a run-producing single from Sleigh to cut it to 3-2.
 
The Mountain Cats then took the lead on Thompson's two-run homerun in the fourth.
 
Pitt-Johnstown broke it open with nine runs in the fifth.  
Devon Walker drew a bases loaded walk and Rizzitano and Stern each had two-run singles.  Sleigh belted a three-run homerun over the left field screen and 
Luke Williams hit a line drive homer over the left-center field wall.
 
The Vulcans came back with a pair of runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh, but Fluke was able to close it out for the Mountain Cats.
 
Sleigh was 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI, and Stern had two hits and three RBI.  Williams singled and homered, while Rizzitano had two hits and drove in two for Pitt-Johnstown.  The Mountain Cats also got a two-run homerun from Thompson and two hits 
Nate Negri, 
Dylan Kerstetter, and 
Dillon Boyer.
 
Flute tossed the complete game to improve to 2-0.  Flute surrendered six runs on 11 hits.  He walked two and struck out seven.
 
With the split, California (PA) closed out the regular season at 26-20 overall and 17-11 in the PSAC West.
