D.J. Sims 7-3 decision over Evan Loughman in the night's final bout erased a two-point deficit lifted the eighth-ranked Mountain Cats wrestlers to a 22-21 win over No. 15 Lake Erie (OH) College, Friday night in the Sports Center.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 8-2.
 
After seeing the lead see-saw back and forth all night, Lake Erie got a 9-3 win by No .12 Evan Rosborough over Nico Pecora at 197 lbs. to put the Storm in front 21-19 entering the 285-lb match.  Sim came out and opened up a first period lead on Loughman, the got a takedown late in the third period to seal the victory for the Mountain Cats.
 
Zeke Beatty won an 11-6 decision over Blake Glogouski to open the match and Chris Eddins' forfeit win two bouts later helped Pitt-Johnstown maintain the lead.
 
Sixth-ranked Nick Boggs gave the lead back to Lake Erie when he pinned Corey Falleroni at 149 lbs., but No. 2 Cody Law scored a 24-12 major decision over Chris Baughman at 157 lbs. put the Mountain Cats back on top 13-12.
 
The Storm's No. 9-ranked Nick Vandermeer held off Steve Edwards at 165 lbs., before Pitt-Johnstown used John Blankenship's injury default victory at 174 lbs. to rebuild it lead to four.
 
Lake Erie then won the next two bouts to set up the finale at heavyweight.
 
With the loss, Lake Erie slipped to 0-1.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC match against nationally-ranked Seton Hill University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to a conference match at Gannon on Saturday.
